Terms of Use

The agreement, written to be read

These terms set out the deal between you and Sluice. They exist to keep the market fair, to protect both sides, and to be honest about what the service can and cannot promise. We have kept them in plain language on purpose.

Last updated 28 June 2026 · Applies to sluicemarkets.com and the Sluice API

01Agreement to these terms

By creating an account, buying credits, or sending a request to the API, you agree to these terms. If you are using Sluice on behalf of a company, you confirm you have the authority to bind that company, and the agreement covers both you and it. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the service.

02Eligibility

You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use Sluice, and you must not be barred from using the service under any applicable law or sanctions regime. You are responsible for ensuring that your use is lawful where you are.

03Your account and security

You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping your credentials and API keys secret. An API key is the equivalent of a password, anyone holding it can spend your balance, so treat it accordingly and rotate it if it is ever exposed. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use, and we will help you secure the account.

04The marketplace

Sluice operates a live order book for inference. Buyers purchase model access against listed supply, and sellers list surplus credits at a price they choose. Prices on the book move with supply and demand, and a quoted rate is an offer to transact at that moment, not a guarantee of future pricing. We provide the venue and the matching, we are not a counterparty to every trade, and we do not guarantee that any particular offer will fill.

05Credits and payments

One credit represents one dollar of inference value and is consumed as you use the models. Top ups are processed by our payment partners, and by paying you authorise the relevant charge. Crypto deposits are matched to your account and credited at a one to one rate. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your own use of the service.

06Refunds

Credits already spent on completed inference are generally non refundable, because the compute behind them has been delivered and cannot be returned. Where a charge is plainly a duplicate or an error on our side, contact us and we will make it right. This does not limit any non waivable rights you have under the law that applies to you.

07Acceptable use

08Content and providers

Outputs are generated by third party models and pass through their own usage policies. You are responsible for how you use what you generate, and for complying with the terms of the provider that produced it. We do not claim ownership of your prompts or your outputs, and we do not use your private content to train models.

09Intellectual property

The Sluice name, brand, interface, and the software behind the service are owned by Sluice and its creator. These terms do not transfer any of those rights to you. You keep whatever rights you have in your own prompts and outputs, subject to the provider terms that apply to them.

10Disclaimers

The service is provided as is and as available. Model availability, pricing, latency, and uptime can change as providers and supply change, and an order book moves by nature. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error free, or that any model will remain available, to the fullest extent the law allows.

11Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sluice is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including missed trades, lost profits, or model downtime, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, abuses the marketplace, or creates risk for other users or for the platform. You may stop using Sluice at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive, such as payment obligations and the disclaimers above, continue after an account ends.

13Changes and contact

These terms can be updated as the product grows. When a change is material, it will be made visible and the date at the top will move, and continuing to use Sluice after that means you accept the new version. Questions go through the contact page. Sluice is built by Thoth, in the open.

This page is a plain summary for transparency. It is not legal advice and does not replace formal terms reviewed for your jurisdiction.
